A Wonderful Month of March

A Wonderful Month of March

Dear FUMC Family,
Spring has not sprung, but you can’t tell it around here! Things are warming and greening up!
And our church is having a wonderful month of March!
This Sunday, March 10, after the 11:00AM service our Kay Lanier is preparing a fellowship luncheon for all. Reservations are not required. Just plan to be in the CLC a moment after noon for Kay’s famous chicken pie and butter beans! And visit with others in our church. Financial donations may be made at the door but are not required.
Then on Sunday, March 17, our traditional Sanctuary will be adorned with beautiful quilts in our congregation’s third annual Quilting Sunday. Our “Fabric Friends” will spend the latter part of next week preparing the Sanctuary for that service. Photographs are nice but just don’t quite show the true beauty of the work. Be there with us as we worship in the most beautiful room in the country that day!
March 24 is Palm Sunday, and here at First Church, that means a special combined worship service. This year on that Sunday (one service at 10:00AM) thirteen men in our church will tell the story of the Gospel through a Last Supper Tableau. Our Chancel Choir will provide beautiful music. Members of First Presbyterian Church will be our guests for this service.
And then Sunday, March 31, is our celebration of Easter, the most significant moment in human history. In both of our services, we will proclaim the power of light and goodness as we celebrate the Resurrection!
Please, remember those who are working behind the scenes to make this a momentous March for us all.

Blessings,

Pastor Dave
