September News

First Church Family,

I certainly love September, but wow is it busy! Please notice everything in this issue of the DOME. Much important information is included. Be sure to file it away and/or paste it to the front of your refrigerator.

In worship, during the first half of September, we will continue to explore the faith of Heroes of the Bible, with Moses, David, and Jonathan as our focus.

Our official Back-to-Church Sunday will be September 18 (as it will be in churches across our whole country.) That Sunday would be a good time to invite friends to join you for worship.

After our 11:00 service that day, we will enjoy a time of fellowship and food over a barbecue lunch. There is no need to make a reservation for the lunch. Just plan to be there. Though you may make a contribution toward the meal, there is no charge!

Dessert that day will be served upstairs in our church library, which has undergone a make-over the past year. The library will be a welcoming location to browse books, share a cup of coffee with a friend, read the Bible and/or a devotion, prepare to lead a Sunday School class, work on homework, and more. Be sure to include a visit to the library, which is down the hall from the church office, on Sunday September 18 (or at a later date.)

Be on the lookout for important upcoming announcements about Habitat for Humanity, Godly Play, C.A.S.T., youth (FCY), women’s groups, Young at Heart, choirs, and more. There are just too many important details to risk getting lost in this DOME letter from me.

While September is filled with new starts and activity, it is also wonderful time to re-engage with both God and fellow disciples! We need you to be present and involved!

Though the seasons will change and come and go, our LORD remains the same loving, all-powerful God!

Together, let us be aware of His presence and power.

In service to Christ, I am:

Pastor Dave
