A Transformed Day

A Transformed Day

First Church Family:
I pray that you are well. I heard a devotion this morning about the fact that we all will have to endure suffering for one reason or another, because, like it or not, it is part of life. And that the antidote to allowing it to defeat us is to love one another. I have to say that the devotion transformed my day!
If you weren’t able to be with us on Sunday for Confirmation, please watch the 11:00AM service online. It will bless you. Sunday morning was an especially God-inspired morning, as nine of our wonderful young people professed faith in Jesus Christ.
The highlight for me was when those newly confirmed young people joined with the entire congregation in affirming what we believe in and through the Apostles’ Creed. Jesus must have been smiling when we all, young and old, rich and poor, male and female, boldly affirmed our faith together.
Please take a long look at the summer newsletter that you should receive later in the week. In it, we offer details about summer worship at FUMC (from July 2 through September 3) when we will gather in one service at 10:00AM (alternating between the CLC and the Sanctuary.)
Enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend, and be with us in worship here on Sunday if you can.

Blessings,

Pastor Dave
