Dear FUMC Family,
Weeks ago, an announcement was made informing you that our Jamie Jones had made the decision to retire from our Director of Music position, effective at the end of this year.
Jamie has guided our program for the last seven years and will be sorely missed. She will direct our special Christmas music: “The Festival of Christmas,” at the 11:00am service this coming Sunday, December 11. Following that service, we will honor both Jamie and our other musicians with a reception in our Christian Life Center.
Jamie’s last official Sunday with us will be the following Sunday, December 18. During the 11:00am service that day, we will present Jamie with a love offering from our congregation.
Please consider being a part of that by making a contribution and sending it to the church office with the memo: “Jamie Jones Love Offering.”
Jamie has been a wonderful blessing to us over the past seven years. Please remember her in your prayers as she enters into retirement. She has expressed interest in continuing to be a part of our music program in the future, just not in a professional way.
Our Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that Jon Beal has been hired to serve as director of our Chancel and Handbell Choirs, and our CAST program, beginning in January.
