First Church Family:
It is my prayer that this email newsletter finds you in good health and spirits. I am doing well, even though I’m dreading “losing” an hour on the weekend because of springing forward – ugh!
The construction work related our church’s dream of building a house for a deserving family in our community is close to getting underway. The dedication of the site will be held on Saturday April 1. I’ll get you the details as we draw closer to the date.
The next two Sundays, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism at our worship services. This Sunday, at 9:00am, we will baptize Dustin and McKenzie Kilpatrick’s daughter Elenor Lane (the granddaughter of Chuck and Karen Cannon, and the great granddaughter of Jim Greene.)
And Sunday the 19th, at 11:00am, we will baptize Adalynn Grace, (the daughter of Matt and Annarae Davis, the granddaughter of Todd and Kelly VanOsdol, and the great granddaughter of Jan VanOsdol.)
Last year, on Palm Sunday, we experienced the power of the disciples’ remembrances of Jesus through the Last Supper Tableau. This year on Palm Sunday, we will celebrate another first for us, as we worship using an age old template – the Passion Play, a service of dramatic readings that focus on Jesus’ passion experience.
Please begin to share with your family and friends the importance of being in church on that Sunday.
It’s hard to believe that Easter is only a month away. May God lead us to a powerful experience of the Resurrection.
