Fall Ministries

Fall Ministries

First Church Family,
Fall ministries are underway and early winter plans are being made. Please read the following updates.

Robbins Pre-School
We have sixteen students in the program, and our Kendra Steube and Erika Murphy are doing a wonderful job with their care and instruction. Next Thursday at 11:00AM, we are doing a “Trunk or Treat” program with them, in which our staff will have Trick or Treat items for the children in the trunks of our cars. We would love to have 5 or 6 additional autos with candy, snacks, etc. for the children. Could you be one of those? Please  contact Ivey at the church office if you could participate.

New Chrismon Tree
Our Altar Guild has purchased a new, large, much needed Chrismon Tree for the Sanctuary. It is beautiful! The cost of it was a bit more than we had budgeted, and because of its size, we will need to buy additional new ornaments this year. If you
would be willing to make a contribution to that important purchase, please mark that contribution “Altar Guild”.

Operation Christmas Child
We are ten days away from the due date of returning our filled boxes. Please complete filling your boxes and return them to the church, and/or pick one up this Sunday in the CLC, Sanctuary, or church office.

Yokefellow
Please continue to support our local food ministries by bringing food by the church office. We have contributed almost four tons of food this year. Thank you to all who have participated.

Thanksgiving Day of Sharing
Plans are underway to provide full ready-to-prepare Thanksgiving meals for families in need on Saturday, November 20. We need volunteers for that occasion, and  contributions for meals. We believe a full meal (with a 3-pound canned ham) can
be provided for a family of four for $25. More specific information will be provided soon, but please have that event in your prayers.

I know that is a lot of information, but what a celebration of ministry! Please plan to participate in all of it.
Our worship focus on Sunday is: “A Promise Only Jesus Can Make.” At 11:00AM we will celebrate the baptism of Jack Albert Korba, infant son of Andrew and Allison. Please have them in your prayers.

Blessings on you,

Pastor Dave
