First Church Family,
I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and spirits. The year 2021 has been another challenging year, but God has used those challenges to bring us back to Him. Our faith has been strengthened, and our ministries have continued to enhance the lives of those both in our fold and also those outside of our family.
As we move into November, commonly recognized as the month of thanksgiving, let us offer our hearts to God in gratitude, and celebrate God’s loving presence in the following special ways.
Sunday, November 7 – All Saints’ Sunday
Worship Celebration in the 11:00am service in the Sanctuary
We will remember the Saints lost to death in the past year, celebrating their faith
and commending them to God for eternity.
Saturday, November 20 – “Bless This Meal” Thanksgiving Celebration
9:00am – noon in the Christian Life Center
We will have breakfast and prayer with families from our community,
and then we will provide each of them with everything they need to prepare a Thanksgiving meal
in the privacy and dignity of their own home.
Sunday, November 21 – Thanksgiving Worship and Pledge Services
9:00am in the Christian Life Center – 11:00am in the Sanctuary
We will worship around the theme of Thanksgiving, and then
we will have the opportunity to bring our Estimate of Giving cards to the altar.
Sunday, November 28 – First Sunday in Advent
Theme: Christmas Is Not Our Birthday
May you bow before Almighty God in special ways during this month and offer God prayers of deep gratitude.
Blessings and love,
