Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

First Church Family:
In early December, upon embarking on an Advent adventure we called: “Christmas Is Not Our Birthday,” I shared with you that our leadership team approved a Christmas program that requested financial gifts be contributed to something Jesus would want for His birthday: the access of clean drinking water for His children.
Several members of our team researched and vetted four different non-profit well-drilling entities who help communities that have no access to clean water gain that access and chose a long-standing non-profit: Living Water International as a partner with whom to work.
Living Water connects churches in the U. S. with churches across the world in such endeavors. We asked for a location in Guatemala and were given a site in Chimaltenango. Our goal was $10,000, an amount that would complete the drilling and building of one well, as well as offer sanitation classes for those involved and a connection to a local Christian community there.
As of today, I received word from our financial secretary that the total contributed by members of our church family to this project has exceeded $20,000, meaning that we will be able to partner with an additional Guatemalan community and provide clean drinking water via two fresh water wells.
That is incredible news! Our church family far exceeded what I thought we could do together. Thousands of some of the poorest people in our hemisphere will now have access to clean water because of our faithfulness.
Thank you to all who prayed for and contributed to this wonderful project! I truly have felt God’s pleasure streaming down on us as we have followed Him this
Christmas.
God is good, all the time! Happy New Year!

Blessings and love,

Pastor Dave
