First Church Family,
I pray that this note finds you in good health and spirits. So many members of our church family have been on vacation, travelling, and entertaining family and friends on weekends that our in-person congregation looks different each week. But every week, new faces are appearing, and FUMC family members are welcomed back. I pray that if you haven’t returned since the pandemic, that you will do so soon!
A few updates: food for both Yokefellow and our CCC&TI campus ministry (microwaveable heat and eat foods) continue to come in. We’ve delivered over 300 pounds of provisions to Yokefellow for the last several weeks, and donations for our community college students, too, have abounded. Thank you for your commitment to persons in our community who are in need.
Secondly, plans for Vacation Bible School (August 9-12 from 9:00AM to Noon) are being finalized. A huge “thank you” goes out to those who have volunteered! We are going to have a great week together. Please make certain that your children, grandchildren, and your friends and neighbor’s children are registered, and plan to attend. This is the first time we have invited children back in an organized way in a year and a half. They need the time together for fellowship and Christian instruction, and we look forward to our experiences with them.
Over the next weeks, our worship will continue to be centered around the promises God makes to us, as recorded in the Scriptures. Bring a friend or family member with you, or be sure to follow the services online. They are sure to bless you.
Please be in prayer for both our students and educators, who will soon be making their ways back to school and college.

Children are so important to us at FUMC. Since we are not able to offer Children’s Sunday School until September, VBS is an important opportunity to provide them with much needed Christian instruction and modeling.
